Social Housing Finance Corporation led by its president, Atty. Arnolfo Ricardo B. Cabling signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN Habitat) represented by Country Manager, Cris Rollo in Marawi City last May 24, 2018.
The MOU will benefit 1,500 families who were displaced as a result of the Marawi siege in 2017. They will be relocated to permanent shelters which will be supported by the Government of Japan through a P500M grant in partnership with the UN Habitat. Aside from shelter provision, the MOU will also include livelihood and community infrastructure support for the beneficiaries.
SHFC will finance the acquisition of the lot where the families will be relocated and provide capacity building interventions in line with its community-driven approach and People's Process.
